Uniport Chrome Extension Privacy

Purpose and local processing

Uniport converts product and shipping measurements, product specifications, reference currencies and international times. Dimensions, weights, quantities, temperatures, amounts, dates, product SKUs and generated text are processed locally in your browser. Calculation inputs and copied results are not sent to the developer or an analytics service.

Local storage and deletion

Language, market preferences, unit pairs, favorite markets, decimal precision, tool order and the last used tool are stored in the extension's local browser storage until you remove the extension or clear its data. Storage is not synchronized between devices. Current calculation inputs and exchange-rate responses are held in page memory and discarded when the extension page closes. The developer does not maintain a database of your inputs.

Reference currency rates

When you open the currency tool and select different currencies, Uniport requests daily reference rates over HTTPS from Frankfurter at api.frankfurter.dev. The request contains source and target currency codes, not your amount, product data, browsing history or current page address. Requests omit cookies and the referring page address. Frankfurter and its infrastructure can receive your IP address and ordinary connection information, as part of providing the requested network service. Their processing is outside the developer's control. Rates are estimates, not live trading or settlement quotes.

Permissions and clipboard

The sidePanel permission displays Uniport beside a webpage. Access to api.frankfurter.dev is used only for reference rates. The extension has no content scripts and does not read the current webpage, browsing history, emails, contacts or account credentials. Clipboard writes occur only when you click a copy button; Uniport does not read your clipboard.

No advertising or extension analytics

The extension has no advertising, tracking scripts, developer telemetry or login system. The developer does not sell user data, use or transfer it for advertising, or use or transfer it for purposes unrelated to the extension's conversions. The use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Website and contact

This policy applies to the extension. The Uniport website has a separate website privacy and analytics policy. Visiting external links opens the destination's own privacy practices. For questions, contact the publisher through Uniport's GitHub issue tracker. Do not include private data or credentials in a public report.
